Alaskan Bushwheel - logo
I started of with researching alaska scenery and animals
Typefaces
Design 1
After looking at Alaskan animals I wanted to try a deer design. Next I drew out a simple antler silhouette using the pen tool. I found the design to be a little plain, so I thought it would be a good ideas to make it geometric. After splitting the silhouette into triagular shapes I experimented with my colour schemes.
Design 2
I wanted to try another deer design so I took my thumbnail of a deer head and traced it using the pen tool. I really liked the idea of using geometric shapes . After I split the design into triangular shapes, like my previous design I played around with my two colour schemes.
Design 3
For this design I look into the Alaskan animals again and thought it would be good to try a bear design as they are a very popular animal in alaska. I started off by drawing out a simple outline of a bear head and experimented with different widths and positioning.
Design 4
I really liked my thumbnail idea of having a geometric A, which I thought is also a good representation of the Alaskan mountains. I took the thumbnail and traced it using the perm tool. After a few refinements I look at adding some colour. I didn't really like how the black outline looked so I look that out, this made the logo much more modern and crisp.
Design 5
Again another mountain design that I drew out which I really thought shows the A for Alaskan and represents the mountains. I wanted to keep this a simple design so after tracing my sketch I made a few refinements and my design was finished.
Design 6
I wanted to try a minimalist design, so carrying on with the mountain idea I went onto illustrator and drew out a simple mountain top silhouette. I wanted to keep this design as simple as possible after a few refinements of the edges the design was finished. Because this was a very quick design to create I decided to experiment with type positioning.
Design 7
I looked back at my animal mood board and liked the idea of having an egalitarian design. Using the pen tool I drew a simplistic eagle silhouette. Next I played around with refinements and adding a few little detail such as extra feathers.
Design 8
For this design I wanted to try something different and create quite a vintage look. I experiment with a few different layouts, and even incorpriated my bear head into some designs. Finally I chose my two favourites and made a few extra refinements.
Development
For my development I looked at a few typefaces that I could use for my final designs.
